After stints with the Miami Heat cheerleaders — a squad she joined before finishing high school — and Pussycat Dolls, Jessica Sutta is finally sashaying into the solo spotlight. This month marks the release of Sutta’s debut single, ‘Show Me,’ a sleek, sexy club track sure to get bodies moving and build anticipation for her forthcoming full-length. In any interview with AOL Music, the surprisingly humble stunner discussed her Pussycat past, fondness for charity work and desire to inspire the next generation of singing, dancing pop stars.

Your brand new single ‘Show Me’ has a very straightforward message — do you live your life like that? Do you prefer honesty over game-playing?

I prefer honesty. Who has time to play games? Life’s too short.

Tell us about the charity efforts you support?

I worked with a charity called New Possibilities. It’s a nonprofit organization to raise money to support and develop educational programs for underprivileged children in India. When I was in India, I had the opportunity to meet the children. They performed for us, gave us gifts that were handcrafted. Such a beautiful and life-altering experience. I always want to be a part of any charity involving children. I love children.

You support Marriage Equality. Why is it so important for you to stand up for gay rights?

Because it should be equality for all. In my opinion, being connects to being. Who are we to judge whom someone loves and wants to spend their life with?

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned from being in the Pussycat Dolls?

There are so many lessons. It’s so hard to just pick one. I learned, traveled and explored so many different avenues of life that have made me into the person I am today.

How has the last year influenced your writing?

It’s the reason why I write. Writing is such an amazing way of self-expression. And I talk about everything on my record. It’s life through my eyes, and I’m honest with everything. From heart ache to desire to love, it’s all in there.

You told Life & Style magazine that you were sleeping on a friend’s couch after you broke a rib on tour with the Dolls. Looking back on that time, how have you grown as an artist and as a person?

I have grown immensely, not only as an artist, but as a woman. I’m a completely different person now. It was a crazy time for me.

What are some of your favorite dance clubs in the U.S.?

Playhouse Night Club in Hollywood is amazing, and LIV in Miami is incredible.

You’re a really humble person. Where do you get all this positive energy?

Thank you. I think its because I love what I do. I’ve dreamed my whole life to be where I am. And the truth is, it’s about that little girl looking up to me, singing, dancing around to my music. Like how I used to do when I was little to Paula Abdul, Madonna, Janet Jackson. Their music was such a huge part of my childhood memories and where all my dreams started. I want to be that for somebody. I’m here to inspire.

What’s next for Jessica Sutta?

I’m still working in the studio on my album entitled ‘Sutta Pop.’ Growing everyday as an artist. And hopefully traveling around the globe performing my new single, ‘Show Me.’
